fast and scrumptious greek food from greco

It’s been a bit since I reviewed a dining spot that wasn’t strictly sit-down. Greco is a good reason to break that habit. Greco offers a more posh, high-quality take on the Cava-style Mediterranean assembly line. The restaurant offers a very decent amount of options, divided into gyros, plates, and salads. The meat options are also impressively varied, with different types of pork, chicken, lamb, and beef. From there, Greco features some solid veggie and side options, with Za’atar fries, zucchini chips, etc. The major drawback of Greco is the pricing— some menu items are priced quite reasonably for the massive amount of food you receive, but others (such as the gyro) are far too small for their high tag. Regardless, the ingredients were high-quality, and it was clear that Greco’s seasoning methods were well thought-out. This is a great option for a nighttime grub with friends. My meal review is below.

Lamb Plate with Greek Slaw

The lamb was by far the highlight of my meal. It was juicy and tender, which was surprising to me, given that it was from an assembly-line style restaurant. It was slightly under-seasoned, but still tasted great because the natural lamb flavors were allowed to shine. The slaw was pretty standard, but paired well with the lamb. The tzatziki was also decent; the pita, on the other hand, was excellent. It was warm and fluffy— not nearly up to the quality of Zaytinya etc., but impressive nonetheless. I really enjoyed this meal.

Lamb: 8/10

Slaw: 7/10

Tzatziki: 6.9/10

Pita: 7.9/10

Overall: 7.7/10
