pastrami sando from katz’s deli- a local legend

NYC

I’d been anticipating a hot pastrami sandwich from Katz’s all trip. It’s a legendary Jewish deli, and the price tag shows it- $30 with tax for one sandwich is absurd. For the experience and taste, though, it’s worth it. I got the classic pastrami on rye with mustard and Swiss.

This thing was fantastic. The pastrami was juicy to perfection. It paired super well with the mustard- and the cheese. The Swiss was perfectly melted. But the most startling part of this sandwich was the bread. I’ve never been a rye fan. But this was different- sweet and soft, but not falling apart. It absorbed and paired with the juices and mustard to a tee. There’s a reason this sandwich is legendary.
