dinner at table 26

The ambiance of Table 26 is just right. It's pretty high-end, and the music is jazzy. We were seated in the “garden,” which, to be fair, wasn't a garden as much as an outside area hidden by a row of bushes from the adjacent road. But, suffice it to say, the vibes were good. We chose the squash blossom as an appetizer, and I had the chicken melanese with a side of Mac and cheese.

Squash Blossom

This was my first squash blossom, and it rocked. So either all squash blossoms rock, or this place makes a great squash blossom. It was tempura fried and filled with a melted cream cheese-squash combo. I didn't like one of the sauces very much, but the basalmic dressing was a good touch.

Tempura: 9/10

Interior cheese: 8/10

Squash: 8/10

Overall: 8.5/10

Chicken Melanese

A solid chicken dish. The exterior was fantastic- nice and crunchy. However, the chicken was pretty dry, and not seasoned super well. The lemon definitely helped. The exterior made it definitely worth it. Also, great portion size.

Chicken prep: 7/10

Crunch factor: 10/10

Overall: 7.5/10

Mac and Cheese

This was the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. It was creamy, with a nice crunchy top. It was honestly super filling. It was warm, and the cheese pull was solid.

Pasta: 7/10

Cheese: 9/10

Top shell: 9/10

Overall: 8.7/10

Bonus: blueberry muffin from hotel cafe

This was a great muffin. Like, way better than expected. Good stuff.

Muffin part: 8/10

Blueberry part: 9/10

Overall: 8.9/10
